What Year Did You Start Supporting United
1980
Why United

Reason 1: Family in Tayport had friends in Dundee and we would always go past quite near to both Tannadice and Dens on the way to their house.

Reason 2: Our next door neighbour Jimmy Stevens in Leslie supported Dundee and would go on about how great Dundee were. It was around the time of the League Cup Final, United v Dundee at Dens, so I think I started supporting United just to annoy him! And because we won!

First United Match
United v Morton at Tannadice on Saturday 27th march 1982. A 5-0 win with paul Sturrock scoring a hat-trick. Still have the programme.
Favourite All-Time Player
Ralph Milne because he was my first favourite player.
Favourite Current Player
Noel Hunt
When did you first hear about the Glenrothes Arabs and how?
??.
Most Memorable Goal
Craig Brewster in the Cup Final narrowly beats John Clark's header in the Nou Camp Stadium.
Best/Favourite Goal
I remember a funny goal Paul Sturrock scored in 1987. Falkirk had a free kick outside their own penalty box, and Sturrock was on his rear tying his boot laces. The Falkirk defender took the free kick, not realising Sturrock was there, passing it back to his keeper. Paul jumped to his feet, got to the ball before the keeper and rounded him, tucking the ball into the net! I still remember all the Falkirk players protesting (That's why they're called The Bairns! - bod)
Regretted Missing a Game
Looking back now, it would have been great to have been at games like Barcelona or Gothenburg at home.
Favourite Away Ground
Currently it's Motherwell.
Worst Away Ground
Falkirk. Not been there for a while and glad I'll never be going back!

Ever Cried at a Game
Cup Finals, St. Mirren 1987 & Rangers 1994, for totally different reasons!

Proudest United Moment

Seeing United winning the Scottish Cup & seeing how much it meant to players like Maurice Malpas, Dave Bowman & Jim McInally.

Furthest You've Travelled to Watch United
?.
Favourite English Team
Sheffield United, only because I chose to be the manager of Sheffield United in a computer game on the Spectrum when I was about 10, then saw a behind the scenes documentary on television about Sheffield United while Dave Bassett was the manager.
Most Disliked Team
Usually whichever of the Old Firm is doing better.
Most Prized United Possession
A video of Sportscene highlights of United winning the league at Dens.
Statto Fact
I have a jigsaw puzzle which is a picture of me (aged 9) with Hamish McAlpine!
