| What
Year Did You Start Supporting United |
| 1980 |
| Why
United |
|
Reason 1: Family in Tayport had friends in Dundee and we
would always go past quite near to both Tannadice and Dens
on the way to their house.
Reason 2: Our next door neighbour Jimmy Stevens in Leslie
supported Dundee and would go on about how great Dundee were.
It was around the time of the League Cup Final, United v Dundee
at Dens, so I think I started supporting United just to annoy
him! And because we won!

Goal |
| I remember a funny goal Paul Sturrock
scored in 1987. Falkirk had a free kick outside their own penalty
box, and Sturrock was on his rear tying his boot laces. The
Falkirk defender took the free kick, not realising Sturrock
was there, passing it back to his keeper. Paul jumped to his
feet, got to the ball before the keeper and rounded him, tucking
the ball into the net! I still remember all the Falkirk players
protesting (That's why they're
called The Bairns! - bod) |
