Starting off as a centre-forward, Clark made his way into the first team during the League winning campaign of 1982/83, but unfortunately didn't make enough appearances to pick up a medal. By 1986/87 Clark was covering for Hegarty at centre-half for a good part of the season, earning a starting role for much of the UEFA Cup run, and scored 4 goals on the way to the Final, including that decisive header in the Nou Camp Stadium and his fantastic strike in the unforgettable Final at Tannadice. Became a regular in defence during the late 80's and early 90's, chipping in with a goal or two each season, including a goal he scored at Dens Park whilst sitting on his arse! Left for Stoke City in 1994, just missing out on a much deserved Scottish Cup winners medal.
