Christian Dailly
Defender

United Debut: v. Alloa Athletic (A) LC 3-0 21/8/90.

Signed From: S-Form 2/8/90.

Transferred to: Derby County £500,000 16/7/96.

Dailly made his debut at the age of 16, becoming the youngest United player to appear in the Premier Division and went on to become a World record holder for Under-21 International caps (34). Starting off his career as a striker, Dailly scored in each of his first three games for United, and played a major role in the 1994 Scottish Cup Final win when he charged down Ally Maxwell's kick to set up Brewster for the winner. During the 1994/95 season, Dailly was used in a number of positions before settling into a defensive role, and at 22 he became club captain and helped United back to the Premier Division after relegation in 1995. An "Arab" through and through, Dailly decided to leave Tannadice before his contract ran out so United would get a fee for him, and went south for a career in English football and became a Scotland regular.
