Dossing is one of United's greatest ever goalscorers, scoring over 20 goals in each of his first two seasons at Tannadice. The second of the Scandinavians signed by Jerry Kerr in the 60's, days after the acquisition of Orjan Persson, Dossing played a major part in United's rise, scoring 21 goals in 19 matches after joining the club a third of the way through season 1964/65, failing to score in only 7 matches that season. He followed that with another 27 goals the following season, including 3 hat-tricks, as United qualified for European football for the first time. He missed both legs against Barcelona due to injury, but scored the winner in the second leg against Juventus at Tannadice in the next round. He returned home to Norway halfway through the 1967/68 season.
