Ferguson made his debut for United against Rangers at Ibrox in 1990, and by the end of that season was a first team regular and his goals helped United to the 1991 Scottish Cup Final. A tremendously skillful player for his size, and great for "noising up" the opposition, Big Dunc finished as United's top scorer for following two seasons, scoring some fantastic goals for a "big skinny b@stard" as the opposition fans knew him! Broke into the Scotland team but, after a fall out with Jim McLean, was eventually sold by Ivan Golac and played against United for Rangers in the 1994 Scottish Cup Final. His transfer from United to Rangers brought a British record transfer fee to Tannadice, which played a large part in the redevelopment of the stadium.
