Manager Paul Sturrock signed Ferraz in the close season of 1999, and he became an instant hit with the United faithful, coming of the bench to score a late winner against Dundee on his debut at Tannadice. He did it again in his next game, coming on to level in a 2-2 draw at Motherwell when United had been 2-0 down. After scoring 3 times in his first 4 games, his form dipped as United reached 3rd in the League. He again came on as a substitute to score the winner against Dundee at Tannadice in December, but the entire team began to suffer after Billy Dodds left for Ibrox, and Ferraz failed to impress, making most of his appearances from the bench as the team slipped down the table. The lanky forward scored a further 4 times for United before being released at the end of the season and he headed back to Portugal, later playing for Maritimo. |
