Grant Johnson
Midfielder

United Debut: v Dunfermline (A) 1-0 7/3/92.

Signed From: Broughtyferry 7/9/90.

Transferred to: Huddersfield Town £90,000 15/11/97.

Breaking into the first team at the tail end of the 1991/92 season, Johnson made his debut at East End Park and played in the final 10 games of the season, scoring his first goal at Fir Park in the last game. His run in the starting eleven continued at the start of the following season, playing in the first 13 games and he scored 2 goals against Queen of the South in the League Cup. That was probably Johnson's best run in the first team as he only ocassionally appeared in the team over the remainder of his career at Tannadice. After Ivan Golac's arrival, Johnson only appeared in spells in the middle of the next 2 seasons, but helped Billy Kirkwood's team recover from relegation in 1995. Johnson fell out of favour again after Tommy McLean's appointment and was eventually sold to Huddersfield Town at the start of the 1997/98 season.
