Gordon McLeod
Midfielder

United Debut: v Dumbarton (H) 4-0 23/2/85.

Signed From: S-Form 1/9/82.

Transferred to: Airdrie £100,000 16/11/88.

McLeod made his debut for United in 1984/85, coming on as a substitute for Eamonn Bannon against Dumbarton, then won his first start later that season in a 2-1 win over Rangers. McLeod was used as cover during the long and tiring 1986/87 season, and was an unused substitute in Lens, Barcelona and Gothenburg during the UEFA Cup run. It took McLeod 18 games over the next 3 seasons before he tasted defeat playing for United, when they lost at Fir Park in November 1987, and it was during that season that he scored his three goals for the club, twice against Falkirk and once against Motherwell. McLeod played in only one match the following season, a 4-0 win at Douglas Park over Hamilton Accies, before leaving for Airdrie.
