The swedish striker had played for Orgryte (the same club that United brought Persson and Wing from in the 60's) and spent 8 years with Norwegian part -timers Moss, before Tommy McLean brought him to Scotland along with Erik Pedersen. His impact was imediate, with a scoring run of 13 goals in 25 games, including a 2-0 win at Ibrox over a Rangers team on their way to 9 in a row. Olofsson formed deadly partnerships with Robbie Winters and Gary McSwegan, and was a major player in United's 17 game unbeaten run that season, finishing as the club's top scorer with 13 goals. The following season he helped United survive a relegation battle with Hibs, twice scoring a double at Easter Road, and was again United's leading scorer with 21 goals. In his last season at Tannadice he formed another potent partnership with Billy Dodds, scoring 27 goals between them, and Kjell humbled Rangers yet again, scoring the winner as United won 1-0 at Ibrox with 10 men!
