Erik Pedersen
Derender/Midfielder

United Debut: v. Hearts (H) 1-0 26/10/96. (Trialist).

Signed From: Viking FC 1/11/96.

Transferred to: Odd Grenland (Norway) 23/5/99.

Pedersen arrived from Norway along with Kjell Olofsson, as part of the 2nd Scandinavian invasion of Tannadice, and appeared in his debut against Hearts as a trialist, but was snapped up by Tommy McLean shortly afterwards. The tireless left-back was one of the best man-markers ever seen at Tannadice, with the likes of Laudrup and Di Canio rarely seen in matches when up against Pedersen. Pederen never scored for United, but had a mean shot when unleashed and even missed a penalty in an 8-0 win in Andorra. A fans favourite, Pedersen would wind the United support up before and during a match, screaming along with the Arabs! After two impressive seasons at United, his third season was ruined with injuries, and he only played in 8 games before returning home at the end of the 1998-99 season.
