United Debut: v Morton (H) 1-1 12/8/95.

Signed From: Coventry City £750,000* 25/7/95.

Transferred to: Hearts 1/7/98.

Rebuilding the team for the season ahead in the 1st Division, manager Billy Kirkwood signed former Rangers players Pressley and Sandy Robertson from Coventry in a joint deal worth £750,000. Playing at centre-half along with Christian Dailly and Brian Welsh, Pressley missed only one match that season as United made their way back to the Premier League. Pressley formed a solid defence along with Perry, Pedersen and Malpas as Tommy McLean took United to 3rd spot in 1996/97, and again he missed only one match in the whole campaign. 'Elvis' also popped up with a couple of goals each season, including 2 against Aberdeen on New Years Day in 1997 and scored a penalty against Rangers in a 2-1 win at Tannadice the following season. Pressley signed for Hearts when his contract ran out at the end of that season.
