Skoldmark became Tommy McLean's sixth Scandinavian signing when he came to Tannadice from the Chinese League a month into the 1997/98 season. The former Orebro defender went straight into the first team and palyed 23 times in his first season, including an appearance in the League Cup Final against Celtic at Ibrox. Skoldmark remained in the first team after Paul Sturrock had replaced McLean a month into the 1998/99 season, and he went on to score his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win over Ayr United in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup, and appeared at Hampden in the semi-final against Celtic. Skoldmark scored his only other goal for the club in the opening game of the 1999/00 season in a 2-1 win over Dundee at Tannadice, but made only 14 appearances, his last being in the 2-2 draw with Alloa in the Scottish Cup, before being freed at the end of the season.
